WHAT
The California Assembly Committee on Higher Education will convene at the University of California, Berkeley, for an informal public hearing on the impact of proposed state budget cuts on higher education.
The hearing, "Will the California Promise of Higher Education for Students be Kept?," is being hosted by UC Berkeley's Office of Government Affairs.
WHEN
This Friday, May 21, 10 a.m. to noon.
WHERE
Auditorium, International House, 2299 Piedmont Ave., at Bancroft Way
WHO
Participating assemblymembers will include Wilma Chan (D-Oakland), Loni Hancock (D-Berkeley), Ellen Corbett (D-San Leandro), Mark Leno (D-San Francisco), Carol Liu (D-La Canada/Flintridge), and Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento).
Guest speakers will include students, campus administrators and business community leaders. Their testimony will be followed by an open public comment period.
